Sliders

Thanks to our friend, Ann, Millie now has a new play structure in the back yard. Tony had to wash out three years worth of dead and not so dead spiders off it, and yesterday Zach came over to play, even though it was about 800 degrees out. Of course their favorite spot was the underneath, which had not been cleaned yet. I don't even want to think about what was down there, but the kids didn't seem to mind. Ah to be young and clueless again.

When we were tired of helping them up the slide for the 1200th time, it was time for some quiet play. Millie took this opportunity to try on Zach's hat.

Let me see that for a sec.

What do you think? I heard that the two-hat look is going to be hot this fall.

You try it now. Trust me, it's all over the runways in Paris.

Cooling off

This weekend a local coffee shop had their annual anniversary "festival", which included some bluegrass bands, hot dogs, and even a moon walk bouncy thingie the kids can go in. Millie and Tony went on Saturday while I was at the, uh hum, spa. We all went again Sunday.

Since I am a bad mom, I always forget my camera so I did not get any shots of Tony and Millie in the bouncy thing. But Alissa did bring hers so she was able to capture Millie and Zach frolicking in water.

Hey this thing is leaking! Here, let me fix it.

Tada!

I'm soaked dad, get me out of here.

Blockage

I was told today that I need to update the blog. There is not much to report this week other than we have been dealing with some serious constipation issues. I could go into detail but I am guessing Millie would not appreciate this information being out there in cyber space. When she is a famous rock star and millions, no, billions, of people Google her name, "has a hard time pooping" is not what she would want to be known for.

I'll just say this: you have not lived until you have given a 13 month old an enema. 'Nuf said.

Here is a snap shot of happier times. This is how she usually feels in the mornings.

Lake Pepin

After reading a recent Star Tribune article raving about all the diet-busting bakeries and restaurants along Lake Pepin, we decide to take an impromptu daytrip there today.

Lake Pepin is about 90 minutes South of St. Paul, if you know where you’re going, which I did not, so it took closer to 2 hours. We were good and hungry by the time we got to our first destination. We followed the article’s advice and started out the day at Rabbit Bakery in Lake City. Millie got her very own little mini-cupcake, which she loved.

After a stop at the local playground- it has amazing marina views for the kiddies to enjoy while burning their booties on the scalding plastic slides- we crossed the river at Wabasha and headed to Stockholm.

It happened to be the 31st Annual Art Fair at Stockholm today. But the crowds were actually kind of fun. Millie was a huge hit at Bogus Creek CafĂ©, where she entertained everyone by showing them she is One (she holds one finger up, for any of you who have not seen her do her trick) and flashing her best “who me? I’m never fussy! My mom’s a liar” smile. She was wearing only her shorts, and with her newly butchered bangs courtesy of yours truly, she looked hilarious even without her antics.

Here she is enjoying her morsel of processed sugar and lard. Num num!

Ok, she thought the raspberry was a little tart. It ended up in her shirt anyway. Outfit #1 down, three to go.

Welcome

It only took me 13 months, but Millie's blog is finally up. I will do my best to post photos and updates on our Little Ms. M as often as possible. Please check back often.

Love to all,

Alex (Millie's Mom)
