"My actually birthday party"

Today was Millie's birthday and it was spent enjoying the glorious May weather. We went to Teddy Bear Park with Zach and his family, then a lovely picnic by the river. We watched the boats go by and the bridge go up and down. After a nice long nap on the couch (yep, all three of us) several friends stopped by for cake. Millie got a few more gifts: some beautiful outfits and best of all, a dilly bar!

When you turn three, you end your day with a pink dilly bar. It's the law.

Then the neighbor brought over rice krispy treats, with tiny colored candy on top. Good God.

I think...I've had...too much...sugar.

Practicing with her new camera. Yes, it's hot pink.

Birthday Party

The spread. Thanks Costco!

A pink girl and her pink balloons.

Checking out Uncle Tal's newest cool app.

My sick little birthday girl.

A quiet moment.

Re-energized, Millie and cousin Julia run aimlessly.

"I'm fwee!"

Uncle Brad makes Millie laugh.

And laugh...

And laugh.

And this is why.

Hot fun in the summer sun

First, rainy day cupcakes:

Finally, the sun came out. Time to put on the tutu swim suit. What? Don't you have one?

Closing down the week at the Chelsea "carnibal" with Betty and Lucy.

Oooh, it's getting too trendy!

The name Millie, according to the SSA, has gone from not even being in the top 1000 names to number 868 in 2009. Yikes.

Roller Girls

Lock up your boys, here come the Roller Girls!

Yes, that is a Barbie strapped to the front.

See the chairs in the background? That's the neighbors "free" pile. Millie asked if a parade was coming.

That brand new scooter you got me is nice and all, but I prefer Lucy's old one. Thanks.

Afternoons with Saba and Safta

Saba blew this photo up to poster size. I'm not kidding.

Catch!

Happiness is a sunny afternoon with my Saba and Safta.

Saba, I'm ready for my baba now.

This is the life man.

A Picnic in the Park

Even with the cool breeze, this Mid-April day was too beautiful to waste. Nothing like a couple of hours in the sun playing duck duck gray duck to brighten up anyone's spirits, even the mothers of three-year-olds.

Ring around the rosie...

Ashes ashes we all fall down.

Graham's first picnic. Not impressed.

Elliot on the other hand, is an old pro at the whole eating on a blanket thing.

Duck Duck Gray Duck (or for those of you not from Minnesota: Duck Duck Goose).
